I’m obviously not very good at this!!!

Oh no – my last blog post was in August!!!  Oh well it’s a sign I’ve been busy which is great!!!  What can I say – it’s been an eventful few weeks and as always I’ve found myself in some of the loveliest places and met so many lovely people :)  

I’ve had two auditions, one for The Voice in Manchester which I didn’t get through and one with Genre Music which I’m happy to say was successful and they’ve booked me to sing at The Living Room in Newcastle – hurrah!!  I’ll be there with Mark on the lovely white Grand Piano too on Friday, 28th December 2012 :)

It’s been good to sing at my regular haunts – Chapters Restaurant in Stokesley, Rockliffe Hall Clubhouse in Hurworth and The Dog & Gun in Potto and I’m delighted to say that they all want me to sing for them in 2013 too so there’s no rest for the wicked!!!!  On top of all that I’ve sang at 12 Harland Place in Norton for a fabulous 30th Wedding Anniversary Celebration, a beautiful wedding at The White Hart Inn near Oldham, I’ve sang in a Gazebo by Lake Ullswater for a wedding at The Inn on The Lake – a personal highlight for me – breathtakingly beautiful!!!  There’s a photo below so you can see for yourselves…  I’ve sang for Guisborough Town Council for The Mayor, had a quiet night at The Smiths Arms in Greatham.

I’ve showcased myself at The Arc ‘Strictly Weddings’ event and The Majestic Hotel in Harrogate – both organised by Diamond Events.  I also sang at The Star Inn at Harome for their own wedding showcase – such a beautiful place! and Gisborough Hall Wedding Fayre organised by Scott Wedding Events and last but not least I spent lovely evening at The Tontine last night for a Wedding Showcase Evening organised by Joanna of Tees Valley Weddings – I had no idea what a fabulous place The Tontine is!!  I’ve driven past it a million times but never been in!!  I will definitely be pestering Mark to take me there for a meal soon!!!

Where are you tonight? I hear you ask…well I actually have a night off!!!  I’m looking forward to a lovely night out with my husband, Mark and some lovely friends :)

July & August have been so busy for me!!! 25 bookings in all including 9 weddings!! I’ve had such a lovely time and met so many lovely people and sang in some of my favourite places :)

In a nutshell, I’ve sang for two weddings at Wynyard Hall, two weddings at Whinstone View, three evenings at Chapters in Stokesley, a wedding at The Golden Lion in Northallerton, an evening at The White Swan, an engagement party at The Treebridge Hotel in Stokesley, a wedding at Cafe Lilli in Norton, sang with Musicians Unlimited at The Park Hotel in Hartlepool, a wedding at Rockliffe Hall where the groom arrived by Helicopter!, Friday Night Live in the Clubhouse, an evening at The Fleece in Alnwick, a lovely Garden Party in Yarm, a wedding at Gisborough Hall, an evening at The Dog & Gun in Potto, a social evening for Saltburn Arts Fair at The Profile Gallery & Sitting Room in Saltburn, an evening at The Buck Inn at Sadberge and last but not least I sang with the James Harrison Jazz Trio at The Queen Catherine in Osmotherley – and I’ve still got 5 more events before the month is finished!

I’m looking forward to singing for Kerry & Dave’s wedding later on today at one of my favourite venues…

Saturday night will be a bit different for me!!!  Singing with the James Harrison Jazz Trio who are absolutely fantastic!  We are playing at The Kings Head in Hutton Rudby from 9pm-ish.  I met them this week to rehearse and I could have listened to them all night!!!

Lovely, lovely, lovely…

The Clubhouse at Rockliffe Hall is such a lovely place to sing!  I was singing there on Friday for Friday Night Live.  It was great to have Mark on the piano too!  It was a lovely relaxed evening with lots of lovely comments from the diners :-)  Can’t wait to be back there again on Friday, 8th June – give them a call on 01325 729999 to book your table!

On Saturday I was at another lovely place: Chapters in Stokesley, not for my normal Acoustic Night in the restaurant though, this time it was for Janet & Geoff’s wedding!  I was singing outside in the Courtyard for the first part of their evening celebrations before the disco started.  Thankfully we were under a gazebo with heaters!!!  It was lovely to be able to sing for them and create a nice atmosphere as their guests were arriving for their fabulous Hog Roast!!!  I’m looking forward to being back at Chapters this Friday, I’ll be singing from around 7:30pm – give them a call on 01642 711888 to book your table!

I’m trying to be good and write a blog every week so here goes….

Well my weekend of singing started on Thursday last week with a Celebration Event at Tall Trees, Yarm.  It was for an organisation called Five Lamps who also gave me some sponsorship towards the start-up of my business, for which I’m eternally grateful!!!  Anyway, the night was organised to celebrate the great work they have been doing helping to transform people’s lives!!!  It was a privilege to sing for them and great to find out more about the fantastic work they do in our community and beyond!

Next up was Friday night at Chapters Hotel in Stokesley.  I sing here at least twice a month and it’s becoming like a second home to me!  I love being there – it’s always a pleasure :)  It was good to see some familiar faces on Friday too :)

Saturday night I was so excited to be singing with Musicians Unlimited again!  Such great musicians!!!  This time it was for the launch of their Charity CD recorded to raise money for Support Your Bowel.  I was asked along as a guest to sing a couple of songs during the night which was absolutely fantastic!  I never thought I’d find myself singing ‘Big Spender’ lol!!!  But it was really good fun :)

All in all, another great weekend!!!
